The new sport commentary schedule is on Newstalk ZB's website, which is very right-wing so I won't be linking to it lol. In the netball, the radio usually covers the Sunday afternoon match at 4pm. 🏐

This is cool, just discovered that an AM radio can be used as a Flipper Zero speaker, as long as the speaker is playing something even at a low volume. (Surprisingly, lower it is, the more clear the sound becomes.)

Here I’ve used some test videos to showcase this finding. The classic Bad Apple, the Doohickey Corporation video and an edited version of the Albuquerque animation.

Using the FZ as a proper music player is possible!

Does anyone in the southern or middle US states remember listening to the KAAY AM radio station in Little Rock Arkansas (this was in the late ‘60’s)? I could pick it up at night in southern Mississippi where I briefly lived.

At night they would air a show called Bleaker Street or something like that. They played what was considered psychedelic music at the time like Flock of Seagulls’ “White Bird”, Traffic, Vanilla Fudge, Hendricks, etc…

One of the side effects of the rabbit hole was finding out germany not only switched off completely all AM transmission but also duly demolished the antennas.

In case of internet failure, imho AM can be a useful communication ir broadcast tool, specially in catastrophe management or general emergencies.

I miss the times when Germany was very risk averse, or at least not with the wrong things.

A lot of countries, including Austria, seem to be reinvesting on AM infrastructure, with the recent developments (war, sabotage, or the experience from the recent black out in portugal and spain) making it quite pertinent..
