Police smash a Europe-wide synthetic drug ring in the biggest bust yet.

The year-long crackdown, announced on Wednesday by Europol, saw officers take down 24 industrial-scale laboratories and seize roughly 1 000 tonnes of chemicals used to produce street drugs including MDMA, amphetamine and methamphetamine.

More recently it has driven vast crime in #Fentanyl #Cocaine #amphetamine and #Ketamine by #demand ing #supplies and lionising shippers, smugglers, and makers of those drugs it's citizens so keenly desire.

Naturally, the rulers of the USA blame others.

So, much as I love him (passed in 2020-ish), he was on "narcolepsy meds" Dexedrine or Benzedrine in the 70's/ 80's and spent the remainder of his adult life searching for a new doctor. How many times I heard the rule about-- as if anyone needed to know that?-- the "MAOI" antidepressant (aka. the old type) must be stopped 14 days prior to starting amphetamine (such as Adderall).

Mostly Schizophrenia probably, but #amphetamine #psychosis is difficult to distinguish. Some kind of crazy drugstore cowboy shit like that. you know. oft times. with the crazies. like ya do.

Out of curiosity is this a new thing for you? After the adderall shortage started years ago I just couldn't rely on adderall consistently... Sometimes it worked, sometimes I never felt it kick in at all..... I've since switched to Dexedrine since it's far more consistent even if it isn't as good.

The most relaxing sleep I have is after my alarm goes off, take adderall and manage to fall back asleep before it kicks in. Never felt sleepy after amphetamine based drugs kick in but modafinil made me fall asleep..... Also interesting is that I've noticed caffeine actually *helps* me sleep better.

and this gets me because. it's like there's a contingent of adhders who heard that we're predisposed to substance abuse issues and, rather than connecting the dots of "substance abuse is often a coping mechanism resorted to in the wake of insufficient care for a psychological disorder, stigma against addicts is one more link in the chain of systemic societal ableism," instead thought "drug users are dangerous and selfish people who are out to do harm to uniquely vulnerable people like me." for a while I put this mindset down to the lack of experience and time to process ideas that comes with youth; it still sucks, but the people I knew in middle school who had bad takes about drugs and alcohol no longer think that way now we're in college, and mostly they changed their minds on their own instead of needing me or someone else to call them out directly. but there are subsets of adhd communities who used these talking points when their average age was 15 in 2016 and are still using them now when their average age is 22. so maybe the hot new trend for 2023 should be interrogating the propaganda you've been fed about drug users for your whole life and considering whether these ideas hold up to compassionate scrutiny and who benefits if you believe them."
