I'm surprised at the difference in sound between the little Mackie 12FX mixer and the Allen & Heath. There is much more bass coming through from the pre-amp output of my Portaflex 500.

I've also had the first chance to actually noodle with an instrument since we've got into the new flat. That has made me very happy.

I'm using an #Ampeg BA115v1 and a #Ibanez Soundgear DX305 #bass. Both of which have been sold since.

I'm looking to get away from #Yamaha / #Ampeg and replace my BA210v2 #bass #amp.
However, I do really like the sound.

I found the #Genzler Magelllon 800. It sounds pretty good. Has two sculpting options from scooped to vintage plus a flat natural tone. Plenty of power.

Main issue is that it's clearly made overseas and with foriegn materials.
I don't know if there's any way around this. My best bet would be to seek out used ones.

Unfortunately, this could be both my first and last gig with them. As I prepare to move away next summer, I'll have less time to play, and honestly they really ought to find someone closer to their own age (and politics) to play with.

So if any of you know a rock #BassGuitar player in the Puget Sound area who likes to complain about kids these days, I know some guys who could use your help.

Dug out my $10 yard sale Ampeg B25 I got back in 04/05 out of mothballs...took it up to the Cider pub for a jam last night. Has a nice grunt, and isn't insanely loud when opened up a bit. Needs some electronic restoration but that won't be a problem. Nice to get it back in use!
