The frozen mummy of #Juanita, the Maiden of #Ampato, was discovered in 1995, and brought to #Hopkins in Baltimore for a CT scan. I was then a #CS grad student doing research in 3D volumetric rendering techniques. My advisor and I were part of the team that cleansed and rendered the CT data. Now, we get to see what Juanita might have looked like. A thirty-year wait was worth it.
