Okay, that's pretty much the whole of the 70s United Artists Amon Düül II catalogue on vinyl going through the wash. They got played in some pretty smoky environments over the years so hopefully they'll sound a bit livelier now.

Had to hang out in town during a long day of classes, so I visited the secondhand record shop in the street behind the Berlitz centre and picked up this total bargain. Double-album of the first two Passport albums. 1976 issue in mint condition.
The first of these features a few members of Amon Düül II and is absolute nosebleed German fusion. Very chuffed at this find.

AMON DUUL II
Yeti
1970 UK 2xLP pressingOne of the most important albums of the entire #krautrock / #prog movement of the late #60s early #70s .
Just an incredible album that SOUNDS magnificent. If you ever come across one, get it.
It’s worth every penny.
However, you’ll need a LOT of pennies.#vinyl #vinylrecords #vinylcollection #art #music #vinylcommunity #retro #vintage #german #amonduulii #1970s #70s

Been digging through the upstairs vinyl collection, bringing some forgotten favourites down to the living room, and giving them a good listening to.
This was one of three Amon Düül II albums I found in a Totnes charity shop for a quid each in the early 2000s, when that was still something that could happen occassionally.

New #review today: "The next set of recordings from the 2017 meeting between #AcidMothersTemple and the Argentinian band #Reynols is now released as Vol. 3. For this collection it sounds as if they were freaking out in the studio and experimenting much like #Zweistein’s Trip-Flipout-Meditation, #FrankZappa at his freakiest on Freak Out!, and #AmonDüülII’s weirdness on Phallus Dei and Yeti." #ExposeOnline #ExperimentalMusic #ImprovisedMusic http://expose.org/index.php/articles/display/acid-mothers-reynols-vol-3-6.html

Amon Düül II - Phallus Dei, Yeti, and Lemmingmania
The backstory of Amon Düül II is too wild to recount here, but Phallus Dei and Yeti are wildly experimental psychedelic rock that was foundational to the Krautrock scene. Lemmingmania is a compilation that includes some non-album singles from the same time period. It's all amazing.

Sure, the BBC production is as shite as it usually is, but Renate sounds amazing in this recording.
-
Sure, not all Düül live performances were totally together. As Renate explained, usually different factions in the band were often on different drug groups - uppers, downers, psychedelics - but this particular night is just very intense and together.
They lied in the album title tho: they didn't Live in London.
-
Everything you need for the perfect Düül sound. Especially the last third of the track. Yr jam band cannot pull off this shit.
-
Yeah, it's not just Kpop here.
