  1. ISOCD-Win is a C#/.NET Windows replacement for the native Amiga ISOCD application. It creates bootable ISO image files which are compatible with the Amiga CD32 and CDTV. Version 1.3.2 is now available:

  2. @blakespot Here it is in on my Sony PVM from a PAL CDTV. Pretty awesome to see on screen! #CommodoreAmiga #Amiga #CDTV #AmigaCDTV

  3. Upgraded my #Amiga CDTV with 8 megs of RAM using this nifty RAM expansion module that plugs into the otherwise unused diagnostic port. It auto configs so it’s plug and play.

Not pictured: I had to put some Kapton tape on top of it because it will short out with the metal top lid with the slightest pressure.

  4. Ok, I wrote an #AREXX script that uses a #WiFi232 modem to grab the current time from NTP and sets the #Amiga clock. First time in almost 25 years since I wrote something in AREXX!

  5. Playing around with Graphicraft on the #AmigaCDTV this morning and found this Jack Haeger work on the disk. It even animates the ground with color cycling. #CommodoreAmiga

  6. I think I figured it out! The A590 disk has a "MakeBootDisk” script that converts the install floppy into a boot floppy for a A590 HD under KickStart 1.2. It starts from the floppy disk and uses BindDrivers to load A590HD from the Expansion folder, which I believe is the driver I’ve been looking for. It automatically mounts the CDTV SCSI HD and passes control to it and continues booting from the HD (with JP15 disabled). 👍

  7. Then I used romsplit which saved 11 files from the CDTV extended ROM. None were scsi.device but there is cdtv.device which may be it? I then tried using loadmodule but it says it’s not executable..?

  8. Here’s what I’ve tried so far: Used getscsi to try and save scsi.device from ROM on the CDTV. It says it can’t find scsi.device which is odd because it shows in SysInfo..?

  9. Question for #CommodoreAmiga gurus out there: I’m trying to get A-Max 2.5 working on my #AmigaCDTV but it will only do so with JP15 disabled. This also hides the extended ROM which means the SCSI card doesn’t work (floppy only).

Is there a way to extract the scsi.device from the extended ROM and use a manual mountlist for KS1.3 to get the SCSI port working again?

    Ps pls boost! ✨

  10. What I really want is to plug a mouse into the existing “remote” port. It’s not a standard Amiga port, and is likely related to the IR remote. But there was a wired mouse for the CDTV (CD1253) but they are super rare. And so far I’ve not found any available docs or projects on how that port works. Does anyone have one of these and can shed some light on it? It might be serial? Can you scope it?

  11. So I built a CDTV mouse adapter based on a DIP socket that goes under the 6500/1 IR controller. So now I can plug in a standard DB9 Amiga mouse!

  12. This composite of two pictures of the same screen beautifully illustrates interlaced video from the Amiga CDTV. They show the screen displaying different fields (in this case 1/50 second). Together, these two fields make up the image you see on the CRT. There is a very noticeable flicker, especially when there’s sharp horizontal color differences between fields.

  13. “It’s always flow control.” I printed again but instead of the ImageWriter II, I sent it over RS-232 and captured it with CoolTerm. I then sent that file (400K) to the ImageWriter II over serial. The flow control gods were smiling because it worked that time! So, I just need an external print buffer/spooler for CDTV and A-Max 😅

  14. Printing from PageMaker starts off fine but quickly turns into garbage and starts ejecting pages from the ImageWriter II. I suspect there’s some hardware flow control problems with longer prints.

  15. ZOOM AND ENHANCE ✨ Having this larger display was certainly an upgrade over the built in display of a classic Mac, but then again, lots of flicker! 😵‍💫

  16. More CDTV pretending to be a Mac printing shenanigans: PageMaker 1.2! Ahh the logo alone takes me back. There’s a sample document on the disk so let’s try printing that!

  17. But can we print from the Amiga CDTV pretending to be a Mac Plus with AMax? Yes! Here’s a MacWrite document (in San Francisco font, natch) printing over the “modem port” (Amiga serial) to an ImageWriter II.

  18. Hey so I got the A-Max cartridge working somehow. I removed and tested three chips, all good. Tried it again and now it’s working! I can plug in the #FloppyEmu into it and access native Mac disk images now. Here’s #MacWrite!

  19. System 6.0.5 booted on my 1MB Amiga CDTV using A-Max 2.5 emulator! Not much on this disk. One thing you can’t see is the incredible amount of flicker from the interlaced mode (especially the Finder window stripes). I’m used to it after years of using an Amiga 😅

  20. I have just the one Amiga floppy drive but luckily I have some converted Mac disks that work with A-Max. System 6 coming up! Amazing that this is all in software! I also have the Mac floppy drive adapter dongle somewhere.. Looks wild to see this on a TV monitor!

  21. Spending today tricking this #AmigaCDTV to be a Macintosh 😅 So far I had to trick it into thinking it’s just an #Amiga500 by disabling the extended ROM (disable J15) so A-Max works. This also disables the SCSI controller so we’re all on floppy today.

  22. The two cards fit together snuggly and just barely fit inside the CDTV expansion slot. Power is tapped from the CDTV SCSI card. I used Kapton tape on the back just in case. And it worked, first try! Only trick is removing the card so I threaded some loose cable around the 50 pin connector to pull the card out.

  23. Decided today to try something I’ve thought about since the #BlueSCSI came out: turn the BlueSCSI into a backpack card for the #Amiga CDTV SCSI card. After trying some test fits for clearance, I moved most components to the opposite side of the board. I used a female header for SCSI on the back of the card.
