Driver USB experimental para Pistorm con Pi 3A+
Se ha publicado un nuevo driver experimental que permite utilizar el puerto USB de una Raspberry Pi 3A+ conectada mediante PiStorm en sistemas Amiga, utilizando la pila USB Poseidon 4.5. El controlador se denomina
berrypi3ap.devicey está desarrollado para configuraciones con Emu68.Las pruebas se han realizado tanto en Amiga 500 como en Amiga 2000, con resultados positivos utilizando diferentes dispositivos USB. Se han probado memorias USB, teclados y varios ratones, incluida la The A500 Mouse, aunque esta última todavía requiere algunos ajustes para funcionar correctamente.
El driver ya incorpora soporte para hot-plug y las memorias USB pueden utilizarse mediante
usbscsi.device, incluyendo unidades de hasta 64 GB. El almacenamiento puede montarse desde AmigaOS utilizando sistemas de archivos como FAT95 o NTFS3G.La principal limitación actual es el uso de varios dispositivos simultáneamente. Aunque se ha conseguido detectar hubs USB y comunicarse con los dispositivos conectados a ellos, el funcionamiento todavía no es suficientemente estable. Por ahora se recomienda utilizar un único dispositivo USB.
El desarrollo continúa siendo experimental y pueden producirse errores de enumeración o incompatibilidades dependiendo del periférico utilizado. El autor solicita pruebas con otras configuraciones de PiStorm y Amiga. El desarrollo está orientado actualmente a Raspberry Pi 3A+ con Emu68, por lo que la compatibilidad con otros modelos de Raspberry Pi todavía no está confirmada.

AGA-PISTORM 1.0, ejecuta juegos AGA en tu AMIGA OCS/ECS
Astair86 ha publicado la versión 1.0 de AGA-PISTORM, un proyecto que lleva varias iteraciones de desarrollo y que permite ejecutar juegos AGA en ordenadores OCS/ECS equipados con PiStorm.
La nueva versión utiliza una modificación de Emu68 para que la Raspberry Pi emule el chipset AGA, incluyendo Alice, Lisa y Paula. El sistema puede activarse desde CaffeineOS y permite ejecutar juegos AGA mediante WHDLoad, recuperando el chipset original del Amiga al salir del juego sin necesidad de reiniciar.
El desarrollo ha sido probado en títulos como Banshee AGA, Pinball Fantasies AGA, Aladdin AGA, Turrican AGA, Clockwiser AGA y Reshoot Proxima 3. También se ha comprobado su funcionamiento en configuraciones con Amiga 600 y PiStorm 16/PiStorm 600.
AGA-PISTORM continúa siendo experimental y requiere, actualmente, un Raspberry Pi 4, 2 MB de Chip RAM y una configuración basada en CaffeineOS y WHDLoad. No ofrece un chipset AGA completo a nivel de sistema ni permite utilizar imágenes ADF; su funcionamiento está orientado a juegos WHDLoad.
La versión 1.0 está disponible gratuitamente en itch.io bajo el modelo «name your own price» e incluye el instalador, los componentes modificados de Emu68, el controlador VideoCore y el código fuente.

Amiga Power: alimentación USB-C GaN y monitorización para A500, A600 y A1200.
A la PowerShark le ha salido competencia. Después de los proyectos de Slince y Ms Mad Lemon, de los que ya hablamos en su momento en Amigatronics, llega ahora Amiga Power, una nueva propuesta desarrollada por José Luis Arenas (Arenas Electrochannel), para proporcionar una alimentación moderna a los Amiga 500, A600 y A1200.
El proyecto utiliza como base un alimentador USB-C GaN de 45 W. Según explica su creador, un adaptador desarrollado específicamente para Amiga se encarga de negociar con el cargador el voltaje necesario para alimentar el ordenador. La propuesta mantiene toda la solución en el exterior del equipo, sin necesidad de realizar modificaciones internas.
Uno de los aspectos más interesantes de Amiga Power es su sistema de monitorización. El denominado cable inteligente incorpora una pantalla que muestra en tiempo real voltaje, amperaje y potencia en vatios, mientras que el propio Amiga Power dispone de un display que permite visualizar las tres líneas de alimentación del Amiga: 5 V, 12 V y -12 V. El módulo incorpora además su propio botón de encendido con la comodidad añadida que ello conlleva.
El planteamiento recuerda inevitablemente a PowerShark, aunque existen diferencias entre ambas propuestas. Mientras PowerShark apuesta también por una solución de alimentación externa y compacta, Amiga Power añade la posibilidad de consultar los parámetros eléctricos mediante sus pantallas, una característica que puede resultar especialmente interesante para quienes quieran controlar el comportamiento de la alimentación de su equipo.
El conjunto mostrado corresponde al Amiga Power Deluxe, con un precio de 75 euros. Este pack incluye el alimentador GaN de 45 W, el cable inteligente con display digital para visualizar los voltajes y el consumo, y el propio Amiga Power que estará disponible en tres colores: negro, beige y arena. El precio solo de la unidad Amiga Power es de 65€.

And, err, I feel some urgency to look at myself, older than 35 and counting.My digital journey:
- mid 80's (childhood): my first PC, the awesome #ZXSpectrum 128K! self learning #BASIC, dreaming everything could be done with a computer. Playing around with my friend's #Commodore64K as well. - 1999
- 1991: #Linux is born! ... and I have no idea...
- early 90's (teenagehood): saved money for a couple of years or so, and bought the #Amiga500 expanded to 1M. #AmigaBASIC and #AmigaDOS; #Workbench1.3 is my place. Learning some #DOS, #Pascal and the almighty #C in high school.
- late 90's (dropped the university), bouncing from a short job to another. I could not afford a new computer, but I built one using scraps from other people. Late adoption of early MS Windows (95 to XP). I bought a PC magazine which included a CD with a full copy of #BorlandC++: BOOM! You know, I had no CD-ROM drive, but these are details I worked around. My unconscious feeling "Code is power, code is control" starts growing fast, but I feel trapped by licenses and lock-ins.
- 2000's: my first Linux discoveries #mandrakelinux / #knoppix live CD. That was sooooo cool, but I could not release myself from MS tools and app. #lock-in
- 2009: completely switched to #linux (Thanks #Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 9.04) and never had a personal non-linux PC ever since - but I have to deal with them at work 🙁. I also bought a 512MB-RAM Atom Netbook that's still alive, running on #debian 12.- 2012: my first smartphone (Android): I think I did not know at that time Linux was running under the hood. - 2014: after a five years learning curve (barely no free time, you're supposed to be a dad, lately. And work all day long, of course!) I was able to port, test and publish my comfort code ❤ (#APT package)
- 2024:
- farewell Ubuntu; hopped to #Debian to give some fresh air to my values and needs. APT fits me better than Snaps and Flatpaks . I know I could do better (#InitSystem, #displaymanager, etc.), but Iet's try to get to some kind ethics/pragmatism trade-off 😀
- so long, GMS. Hopped to #eos on my smartphone.---- TODAY ----
War is across the globe. All of the areas are building wall, setting up (or trying to) domestic infrastructures before bombs drop in their houses. Bragging about sovereignty (also digital). An Italian privacy-focused FOSS infrastructure is enlisted as terrorist.
The Earth is warmer, hearts are colder.
The sky is still blue.

And, err, I feel some urgency to look at myself, older than 35 and counting.My digital journey:
- mid 80's (childhood): my first PC, the awesome #ZXSpectrum 128K! self learning #BASIC, dreaming everything could be done with a computer. Playing around with my friend's #Commodore64K as well. - 1999
- 1991: #Linux is born! ... and I have no idea...
- early 90's (teenagehood): saved money for a couple of years or so, and bought the #Amiga500 expanded to 1M. #AmigaBASIC and #AmigaDOS; #Workbench1.3 is my place. Learning some #DOS, #Pascal and the almighty #C in high school.
- late 90's (dropped the university), bouncing from a short job to another. I could not afford a new computer, but I built one using scraps from other people. Late adoption of early MS Windows (95 to XP). I bought a PC magazine which included a CD with a full copy of #BorlandC++: BOOM! You know, I had no CD-ROM drive, but these are details I worked around. My unconscious feeling "Code is power, code is control" starts growing fast, but I feel trapped by licenses and lock-ins.
- 2000's: my first Linux discoveries #mandrakelinux / #knoppix live CD. That was sooooo cool, but I could not release myself from MS tools and app. #lock-in
- 2009: completely switched to #linux (Thanks #Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex 9.04) and never had a personal non-linux PC ever since - but I have to deal with them at work 🙁. I also bought a 512MB-RAM Atom Netbook that's still alive, running on #debian 12.- 2012: my first smartphone (Android): I think I did not know at that time Linux was running under the hood.
