I kinda wish i could have a #GeminiProtocol browser like #Amfora for the #kindle ..

it's such a great reading experience, and I think it would lend itself well to kinda with a touch screen.

I need to look into kindle programming.

I’m tinkering with #geminiprotocol. I’ve installed #Amfora so I can use sites that require identity certs. The whole trust first on use (tofu) is batshit (says the idiot who always blindly trusts ssh host verification), but it’s kinda neat. #lagrange definitely has the whole ergonomics of identity certs lock down not a whiff of openssl command line magicks. Would’ve preferred to stick with bombadillo (it’s suports #GopherProtocol and #fingerprotocol), but can’t do certs). I would love to see a tui that can renders images using #sixel

funny you should mention that. I just put together a little Toot Explorer. I ended up having it spit out the file as a GMI so that i could read it with #Amfora.

i started using the #gemini protocol (using #amfora) to read my regular new feeds. Sometimes, i forget where i left the article, so i end up having read it using the regular web.

The regular web is kinda unusable for reading.

I will check out the #offpunk browser. I have used #lagrange , but i am just not a fan of all the icons in the page. i kinda like the "all text" view of #amfora.

#amfora is a great #gemini client, and #phetch is my go-to #gopher client.

What other cli tools do people use?

Gemini Capsule update. Got my 'About Me' page sorted and started playing with the layout of the main page, etc. I think I have a pretty good framework to work with now, so that all pages are as uniform as possible. Really enjoying this process so far, it's nice working with plain text and just being able to write

It’s reading toots of #Mastodon accounts which I follow and it’s showing them as #gemtext inside #Amfora browser.

My initial inquiries in the #gopher and #gemini world reveal a surprising number of parallels. Anyone who is enthusiastic about an Internet away from the colorful, blinking surveillance industry is probably more willing to explore new avenues in this area. Although "gopher" is the older protocol, I sympathize with the new "gemini" - also for personal reasons 😉 With the #Linux #Terminal program #amfora I will now take a closer look there.

Bei meinen ersten Erkundigungen in der #gopher und #gemini Welt tauchen erstaunlich viele parallelen auf. Wer sich für ein Internet abseits der bunt blinkenden Überwachungsindustrie begeistert, ist wohl eher bereit neue Wege in diesem Bereich zu erschließen. @256 a #xfce4 version of 2009 is still in use on a #OpenPandora here... Shots showing desktop, #thunar and terminal running #amfora to browse the #geminispace :)

Now that #amfora is in maintenance mode, #gemini console clients are rather stagnant for choice. However, @op has #telescope which is amazing. I wholeheartedly recommend this client to browse #gemini.
