There is an American Robin attacking all of our windows. It's not flying into them, this is reflection aggression. It has a screw loose and sees itself in our [dirty] windows and is attacking to defend its territory. Apparently this is common. What a doofus.

Angry birds.
I saw one of these robins 200 ft away from it's nests when I was sitting in the backyard this evening. It landed on a post in the grapevine and was ruffling it's feathers at me to let me know it knew who I was I guess.

Robin's nest in the Gravenstein apple tree update. I saw two robins sitting in the nest this afternoon as I was walking by to turn some water off. I tried to take their picture but they got off the nest and protested. I decided to take a photo to inspect the nest, saw a little pink fuzzy thing so I guess they're starting to hatch.

In other news, I've been using the REAL #BirdApp -- #Merlin from Cornell Labs. So far, I've identified #HouseWren, #AmericanRobins, #NorthernCardinal, #TuftedTitmouse, #PurpleFinch, #EasternTowhee and #RedEyedVireo -- just from my backyard! Some of them are migratory. Will post more about them soon. The #AmericanRobin is nesting next to the house, so that one comes up a lot.
