For my soon-ish birthday, my specialty pharmacy gave me a nearly $7,000 bill for the latest shipment of the single dose of medicine I take every eight weeks.
Never mind that when I changed to this group of providers with my insurance change back in June I gave out information numerous times to multiple parties that should make my co-pay $0. Including to one company in the chain whose sole purpose is making sure I have a $0 co-pay.

There are a lot of stupid things about American health insurance, but the notion of ambulance services being out of network is a unique level of stupid.

I've been at my "new" location just over a year, and there has not been a single month in all that time when my prescriptions were available without some sort of problem. not once. I burned through almost 90 days of emergency reserve on critical medications and now have no reserve at all, and I live in an area with major natural disasters. #AmericanHealthcare

An elderly man collapsed on the sidewalk this morning. We helped him sit up. He wanted to go to his car (a very bad idea) but even with us holding him up he couldn't walk and sank back down to the sidewalk. I went to the urgent care *right next door* for help but, alas, for liability reasons they could not help.
But it's okay. At least the receptionist looked appropriately uncomfortable. </snark>
We called 911 and an ambulance showed up to take over his care.

#NursingHomes in the United States are absolutely vile places. My coworkers are on the edge of quitting due to bureaucratic neglect, institutional neglect of residence. The food is atrocious, nurses are penalized for sending obviously sick patience to the hospital, and easily treated wounds and illnesses get worse because of incompetence or greed. #AmericanHealthCare #UnitedStates #healthcare

America is a fucking embarrassment. I had to make an account with my vision insurance provider (via Medicaid, so the state is literally paying them) and this is the form.
There are secret rules to this form. Despite my healthcare account number having a dash in it, if you add a dash, the form does not progress. If your username is not the same as your email, the form does not progress.

The obvious joke would be 1 vial per month, so 3 vials. So almost $2.3k for 30mL of insulin.
