In Parsippany, NJ, the Sheraton hotel bartender (Thomas) made an amazing French 75, shaking it at tableside, pouring it into a Martini glass, and floating champagne on top to finish it. It tasted amazing!!

He asked whether I wanted it on ice or not (some people drink it on ice--no one *I* know), and we had a marvelous talk about craft cocktails. He makes his own simple syrup--from raw sugar only, please. I wish we could drink there more often.

Q3: I love to write characters who caffeine, although they aren't always tea drinkers (cause I am clearly weird).

I do tend to write characters who can't live without their caffeine--sorta like Brad Pitt like characters who are eating--it reliably gives them something to do.

Q2: I admit it--I've never found Pumpkin spice anything remotely tempting (except actual pumpkin pie).
Pumpkin spice latte is the devil's work. I'm convinced of it.

Q1: I caffeine CONSTANTLY.
I drink a lot of tea. I have a whole cupboard of different types. I make loose tea in a pot (or Mr. Tea) if I'm motivated, but mostly I'm lazy and I use a bag.
My go-to bag is Celestial Seasonings Mountain Chai, made with stevia and an overly generous amount of cashew milk.

Today I'm finding joy in the absolutely awesome time I had this past weekend at Capclave, the amazing SF convention run every year by WSFA, where they give out the WSFA Small Press Awards.

In honor of tonight's theme, I'm also finding joy in a wee dram of Highland Park (18 y.o.), because I deserve it.
