Setting up an #Ambisonic playback template in #Reaper for the concert on Sunday. I’ve got everything from stereo, to 8.0 (paired channels), to Atmos, to a 5th order Ambisonic file, and some have video as well.
But it just freaking works. Let’s see Pro Tools do that…

So. I think I have a workable solution for converting my #Ambisonic field recordings to 7.1.4 / #DolbyAtmos although it takes some order-of-operations shenanigans to get everything set up correctly with this combination of plugins in Logic Pro X.

Had a breakthrough on surround panning perspectives in a narrative #Ambisonic piece by looking for outside perspectives (in this case, by playing video games). Who is the narrator? Who is the audience? What does each hear? And what does the panning happen around?
Now this piece is starting to work!
