What caught my attention was the logo of a dinosaur devouring a book. Twice curious.
This is not a post about destruction of rare books, not is it a post about AI itself. It's about the #AmazonVGT3 logo as reported by 404Media. (Article links below in reply.)
The article shows two logos; as you'll see they're different. One appears in the "storefront" window. The other is "clean" - perhaps reasonably generated for purposes of the article.
The storefront logo is more curious. It's only recently been added. It's not in the last Google streetview (February this year). Why would #Amazon add the window stickers now? If they wanted to keep quiet about shredding books, why rile people with this logo? As an AI company, is it all part of a continuous #AIHype cycle?
The answers are not as important as us asking the questions.

How apt for a book destroying monster company that the logo of Amazon's VGT3 unit looks like a shitty LLM generated picture of a T. rex holding a book with its two only claws at the book's pages and its loose dust jacket 🤦
