This week I was a bit fixated on playing Waypoints and Voyages, though the week was really a story of desk and sidewalk.
A world map was painted on the courtyard at Hope Blooms.
I left some books at the nearest little library and livened it up a bit. I’m hoping someone falls in love with Astro Boy from the omnibus.
A campaign to stop road widening (what kind of asshole widens a road in a city?) has decorated trees along Robie Street.
The latest episode of Jay & Miles X-Plain the X-Men is a lot of things.
It’s a good jumping on point to understand the podcast, its hosts, and X-Men broadly.
It’s a live podcast with crowd questions and engagement.
It’s partly a recap of the history of the comics and the podcast.
It also has a portion with a disruptive person who flees when Jay doesn’t rise to the bait about identity politics.Jay’s open letter to the disruptor.
This podcast has been my favorite for years and it’s hosts are decidedly among the good ones.
Today I played through map 3 in Voyages. The addition of filling out journals to track encounters with creatures was fun.
I played map 4 of Voyages today. The beacon mechanic made this map a lot of fun to explore.

Today I played the fifth map of Voyages and finished the A Most Epic Voyage. The nemesis introduced by the AMEV definitely made the game much harder, but I was able to finish the map with enough stars. I didn’t get to use the mechanics introduced in this map a lot, but the drifting and diving choices felt meaningful.
There’s just one more map for me to try for the first time but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the game.
I finished the last map of Voyages today. I’m still very happy with the game and enjoyed the simplicity of the new mechanics on this map.
I was back to playing Waypoints today. Map 2, Burning Rock Canyon, was just as fun as the first.
I was using a new pair of macro and wide angle lenses for my phone and took this shot of the office orchid, which still has all its blooms.
We visited the library today so Celestine could join the Summer Reading Club (she has a goal of 100). While we were there she took part in a beading event in the creative studio.
I finally got a Xenoblade Chronicles X shirt. It’s a subtle design that will be familiar to those who have piloted skells.
A music festival is happening over at Citadel Hill. As we walked home with rain starting to fall on us a couple minutes ago we could hear Amanda Marshall singing “Let It Rain” from across the kilometre of city between us.

Musik hatte ich heute eigentlich schon als Thema. Aber dieses Lied könnte ich in Endlosschleife hören. Ok, vielleicht habe ich das diese Woche bereits gemacht.
Wahrscheinlich kann man kaum noch mehr meiner Triggerpunkte in einem einzigen Lied auslösen. Zugegeben, die Gegenprobe mit meinen Lieblingsliedern von Pe Werner steht diesbezüglich noch aus.
