Meet Ove: the grumpiest man in the neighborhood with the softest heart underneath. Fredrik Backman does it again, breaking my heart and warming it in the same breath. Full 5-star review of A Man Called Ove (audiobook, narrated by George Newbern) is up now! #AManCalledOve

Listening to the English audiobook of "A Man Called Ove" by Fredrik Backman narrated by J.K. Simmons. While I enjoyed Tom Hanks in the English film adaptation, Simmons would have made a truly FANTASTIC Ove / Otto. I don't normally do audiobooks (I have a book group that I really need to finish the book for) but this one has been nice.

Simpatica commedia svedese che ha per protagonista un burbero vedovo 60enne ossessionato dalle regole condominiali…

Esiste anche un remake USA con Tom Hanks.

Films about grumpy boomer men are nothing new. I'm thinking of "Grumpy Old Men", "About Schmidt", or "The Grump" films (books by Tuomas Kyrö).

With "A Man Called Otto", a Hollywood remake with Tom Hanks was launched this year. Those who can warm to it should take a look at the Swedish original.

@OldAintDead @NoelJPenaflor Loving loving loving A Man Called Ove so much! @bookstodon #AManCalledOve

@NoelJPenaflor I loved #AManCalledOve so much. Not sure even #TomHanks can entice me to watch the Americanized version.
