Doing some research, and amused by the story of the handwritten card placed above the fireplace in Alyth Reading Room in 1858, telling people about an upcoming meeting there to discuss maybe founding a public library. Unusually for me who doesn’t easily visualise things, I now have a clear mental image of a cosy fireplace, with seats beside it, and an enigmatic handwritten card resting above. I sit approx. 6feet from my window, approx. 15 feet from that is a bird feeder so, I have my camera almost permanently set up with a 180-600mm lens on it and get some great shots (IMO) but, about 30 minutes ago, this happened. Second of THE funniest bird behaviours I've ever seen. I've been chasing off the Corvids after a Jackdaw picked up a young Siskin and made off. A small stand of birch trees near the Alyth Burn, Den of Alyth.
This style harks back to days when I first realised the problems with landscape photography, as most practise it - when I rebelled and took up black-and-white woodlnad work letting the shapes of the trees speak for themselves.
