What about negative phrases in social media posts that are NOT actually about the linked article?

What about negative posts about a paper that don’t actually link to the paper? (Screenshots, “link in comment” posts, etc.)

"Like many awesome internet phenomena, blogging started in the late nineties. Nature authors and editors recognized the effort early. In 2006 there were already more than 45 million blogs, and at least 50 science blogs made it in the top 50,000 and 5 in the top 3,500."

  16. The #altmetric service (Holtzbrinck corp.) supposedly tracks online attention to research, used by many journals/universities. They track X and Bsky but ignore the most impactful platform Mastodon: What isn't corporate doesn't exist. Great example of how data are never "neutral".

  26. #Altmetric now includes (re-)posts on #Bluesky in their scores

This will probably mean that even more scientists will use Bsky as their main replacement of Xitter 😕

  31. #Altmetric update: I emailed them about this and got an answer!
They say they can’t add #Mastodon tracking at the moment due mostly to “technical incompatibilities”.
They say they’re thinking about adding #Bluesky

I asked them what were the incompatibilities because we might be able to fix them from our side (right?) - I’ll let you know if they answer…
