I had a couple of cyanotypes where I wasn't happy with the lack of detail so as an experiment I went back over them with a fineliner and some silver/gold acylics, applied with scrunched-up silver foil. What do you think?

I learned an important lesson today, so you folks don't have to: If you want to use clingfilm to add texture to your cyanotype, put it BETWEEN the paper and the glass, otherwise it doesn't do anything 🙄 Yes folks, it's a CONTACT PRINTING process.

I'm calling this one The Principles of Flight.

It was in the sun/cloud for nearly two hours, and was initally sprayed with diluted white vinegar.

My first attempt at a cyanotype using found objects is now hanging to dry and, amazingly, I appear to have an image! I am beyond excited and can't wait to experiment to get different results. This was a 10-minute exposure under full sunlight, as I read that over-exposure is preferable to under, but I may go for eight minutes in the next attempt as the blues are a little dark for my taste, but I love the variation in the tones and the feathered, brushed edge #cyanotypes #alternativeprocesses
