We also ran into a ton of neighbors last night who were also celebrating #AllstonChristmas. One was wearing a very nice Cotopaxi backpack that had been an Allston Christmas gift in a previous year, and she said she always wore it to celebrate and take home her presents. As is traditional, we wished everyone good hunting.

So far #AllstonChristmas has brought us a TI-89; a huge, barely used Instant Pot; several bike parts including a bottle cage and a bunch of tires; two cutting boards; and a bunch of Mardi Gras cups. The gods of the streets smile upon us.

Edit: Oh and also a tiny travel iron that can go in my portable mending equipment pile! From the same house as the Instant Pot.

Folks that have been local to Boston for longer than I have, is it still fair to call it Allston Christmas even if it's not in Allston? Personally, I've always considered it more of a concept than a specific location or date.

@tchauhan 9/1 in the boston metro region is an absolute shitshow. See also #AllstonChristmas.

The management company might be doing work on the place until 8/31. The worst you can do is ask, you are not the first person to deal with this problem. They might let you move some of your stuff in before 9/1 but not stay overnight in the unit, for instance. Best luck!
