AllSeas moffelt kritiek weg uit eigen SMR-rapport
Gister een vernietigende rapportage van Nieuwsuur over de kerncentrale‑plannen van gemeente Opmeer. Dit na het nieuws dat de Europese Commissie maar wat graag zou investeren in kleine modulaire kerncentrales. Probleempje daarbij is alleen dat die kerncentrales helemaal niet te koop zijn. Expert Wim Turkenburg, betrokken bij de ontwikkeling van de Pallas‑kernreactor in Petten (qua ontwerp vergelijkbaar met een kleine kerncentrale), noemt de plannen van Opmeer dan ook “volstrekt onhaalbaar”: “We praten over een nieuw te ontwikkelen type reactor. De reactor in Petten is kleiner dan de reactor die Opmeer wil neerzetten. In Petten heeft alles straks zo’n dertig jaar geduurd.”
Voor AllSeas, het bedrijf dat met Opmeer in gesprek is, vormt dat geen enkel bezwaar. Hun oplossing: kritische geluiden negeren.Uit het nieuwsbericht van Nieuwsuur:
