I made a start yesterday (Saturday) on the last "out-of-control" bed at my friend's little allotment. Unfortunately, the raspberries had been almost completely choked out by brambles and bindweed. Work, illness, and life have gotten the way, and I've not been at the allotment in three weeks. I knew it was going to be bad, but I had no other plans today, so I rocked up with snacks, sugary drinks, and a will to see it through. 5+ hours of playing "is this a weed or one of my seeds" (sadly, I lost very badly at the related game of weed or parsnip), and order has been restored! I'm going to hurt tomorrow

A series from my brief trip to the allotment on Sunday. I decided it was time to transplant the leek seedlings that I sowed on the 23rd March. I would have liked them to be less patchy and more uniform in size, but I realise that I over-sowed them.. and probably too deeply 🙂 #allotmentgardening
