One of the few times I've ever walked out of a cinema before the film was finished was his star turn in the dreadfully dull All of Us Strangers. Scott can act well, but only when playing off better actors, as in Sherlock when he interacts with Benedict Cumberpatch.

Attention ce n'est pas du feel-good, mais la plupart des personnes 🏳️‍🌈 (d'autant plus 80's-90's) connaissent intimement tout le sentiment de la solitude affective en miroir de l'homophobie sociale explorée avec mille délicatesses dans ce film. Extrêmement bien joué, magnifiquement filmé.

I just saw Andrew Haigh’s film All Of Us Strangers and I thought I was so, so done with the cliché sad queer films. But Haigh imbues the story with enough magical realism and optimism that the movie leaves us feeling cathartic, melancholic, and nostalgic. Andrew Scott’s performance as the lonely Adam battling his internal demons and repressed emotions was also a highlight of the film.

Sacré film "All of Us Strangers" d'Andrew Haigh. (Son précédent film "Week-end" est un de mes bijoux.)
J'y ai eu des émotions que j'avouerai difficilement, celle d'une enfance, d'un tout début de vie d'"homosexuel" - comme la mère d'un des personnages le dit - qui savait déjà gosse et pré-ado combien la solitude existentielle allait être particulière dans cette vie d'adulte.
