#NIH Announces World’s Largest Integrated #Health Database
It contains more than half a million people’s #genomes, paired with clinical records and wearable tech data.
#AllOfUs, which started in 2018, recruits participants from diverse backgrounds and combines genetic info with real-world data from health records, wearable technology like Fitbits and other sources to help scientists investigate potential causes of and treatments for disease.

I joined the #AllOfUs community advisory in New England kind of by accident because I'm not a health advocate, nor do I work in health. I'm a privacy researcher so I asked a lot of questions about data custody 😅 and it convinced me to consent to my first-ever genetic testing.

#guardian has gone full-tilt into the delusional fantasy that #starmer is the saviour of capitalism, the thing that has squandered and misallocated our talent and resources dooming us to squabbling over the remaining landfill in an irradiated and barren earth, and that that is a good thing.
Another item for the memory hole when his government ends in tears and media is plaintively asking "who could have forseen this would end badly?" #AllOfUs

Because of the #AllOfUs #UMAP thing, went to look at TwiX for the 1st time in a while. It's disappointing how much of the conversation is still going on over there, including among scientists who take the moral high ground on many topics. Many of these are famous enough that if they moved, the conversation would move with them. But they don't. It's reminiscent of the lack of support for open access or non profit publishing by big labs IMO.
