I’m 92% of the way through Outlaws of the Marsh. This part is loosely based on actual history, Song Jiang was one of the commanders sent to fight Fang La’s rebellion.
I can tell I’m getting close to the end. Some of the Chieftains have died. Being a Heavenly Spirit or an Earthly Fiend only means they make it to the oath in chapter 72, each has a destiny awaiting them.

Sometimes Outlaws of the Marsh feels long and a bit repetitive, certain patterns repeat. But then you come across a unique section that’s incredible.
Chapter 56, Shi Qian the Flea on a Drum’s theft of Xu Ning’s ancestral armor is fantastic and really should be a scene in a movie or anime.

Finished Suikoden with all 108 stars of destiny. Probably over leveled for the final fight, I was at max money by the end.
The evil empire was defeated, and a new republic is born.

Getting near the end of Suikoden. 100 of 108 stars of destiny. I had to take two runs at the Necrolord, he was a nasty fight. I only just noticed the castle has a roof and apparently that’s where all the ninja hang out.

I picked up the remake of Suikoden. Before I dive in, are there any of the 108 stars of destiny that can’t be acquired if you miss them in a particular window? Should I look up the hard to get characters before I play? Because I know I want them all.
In other news I also finally picked up a (4 volume) translation of The Outlaws of the Marsh.
