Eighty years ago tonight, thousands of allied soldiers, sailors and airmen were preparing to face a horror beyond comprehension. For many it would be their last night on earth.
June the 6th upsets me every year, but this year more than most. After so much heroic self sacrifice, we’ve clearly learned nothing. Eighty years on, we still have war in Europe…
