Tjoaa, aus verschiedenen hierzufaden genannten Gründen wurde das #Quadrophonie-#Surround-Live-Setup dann doch einfacher und auch komplizierter… ein #AllenHeath #SQ5 Mischpult ist nämlich eigentlich zu unflexibel, um den #Reverb we gewohnt zu routen.
Letztendlich wurden es zwei #Convolution / #IR Reverbs mit den #Bricasti #M7 #Impulsantworten. Und noch eine Engine mehr für den „normalen Front-Mix”. Das muss dann mittels Kanälen, Bussen, Gruppen und Matrixen zusammengerührt und auf 4x2 Boxen verteilt werden.
Und dann noch 8 Kanäle #Waves #PSE vorhalten, wegen Drum Bleed.
Krankheitsbedingt eine späte und knappe Vorbereitung, und jetzt die Cases in die Transportmittel schubsen und los… Einlass ist in 8 Stunden, das ist die Zeit, die nun noch bleibt.

Die Erleichterung des Aufgebens ist vielleicht nicht so manchen Nerdes liebstes Gefühl. Und jetzt: #Atmen, #Loslassen.
Ich entferne das #MerginAudioDevice (#MAD) vom #Windows Rechnerlein. Nach vielen Stunden des Versuchens habe ich mit diesem virtuellen #ASIO #AudioInterface für #AES67 / #Ravenna keine Verbindung zu meinem #Dante-System im AES67-Modus hinbekommen.
Und das alles wegen ein paar erhofften Millisekunden weniger Latenz an einer kleinen Ecke. Ich geb's auf, ich lasse es los, so geht's eben nicht.
So bleibt nur #WAVES direkt für mein Vorhaben. Also die Erweiterungskarte fürs Pult, ca 900€, dann noch die Bridge auf Dante, das macht weitere 3200€. Oder das größere Mischpult (#AllenHeath #Avantis anstatt #SQ5) für, erm, naja. 18500€
Oder halt die Vocals 8msec zu spät via wackeligem USB und den Recorder über #DanteVirtualSoundcard mit noch einem Laptop mehr.
Oder eben keinen #PrimarySourceExpander und weniger perfekten Sound.
Die Kunden wollen sowieso eigentlich alles für 0€ haben.

Took 4 weeks but the studio is finally back up & running. Sadly when the monitors crashed onto the mixer & buckled the rack units in the desk it damaged 2 of the DB-25 cables connected to the Presonus Quantum 4848 interface. So until I can replace the cables I'm "limited" to 24 tracks in & out. I'm really excited to have things running again.

I'm becoming a fan of the mixingstation.app program. Anyone have any good tutorials on it? It's great so far.
I specifically need some help with a A&H QU-24 board, I have to help setup the mixer for a show next week and am doing a deep dive on how it works. Little sad that A&H don't have a computer program for it…..

Bei mir ist es ja so: Wenn ich viel erlebe und/oder viel arbeite, dann brauche ich auch mal wieder Zeit, um zu Klarheit zu gelangen und alles zu einzusortieren.
Bei #Windows ist es so: Je seltener man es benutzt, desto höher wird der Anteil an Wartezeit bei der automagischen #Wartung gegenüber der eigentlichen Arbeitszeit.
Eigentlich wollte ich schon im Bett sein, doch dann brauchte ich noch schnell die #MixPad #App von #AllenHeath und das #iPad war nicht aufgeladen. Morgen Vormittag antworte ich auf alle Fragen dann nur noch mit: „#Bereinigung wird ausgeführt.“
