  1. This weekend Foag Klarinetten released their giant "Oktokontrabassklarinette" at the Nürnberg Akustika show. An octave below the contrabass clarinet, this beast can be yours for a cool €60,000 with keys for low C, sounding B♭₋₁ nearly an octave below the piano's lowest note (more of a queasiness than a note).

Have been annoyed with myself for not including enough "proper rock" tunes. So here is one.

11th: Queen, Dragon Attack (I 💘 all 4 of them so much!)

[I may need to add: 1st to 11th order is stricktly following "what came to mind", not in order of preference.]

  3. This #tunetuesday the theme is #allaboutthebass and I particularly love the bass in this song by Radiohead - 'Where I End and You Begin' (and especially love the live "from the basement" version) Colin does a fantastic job 👌🏻

  4. Okay haven’t been online much today so late to the party but I see it’s #TuneTuesday and it’s #AllAboutTheBass from @TG_Esq so I’m going to go with the album that made me want to play the bass when I was younger and that’s Gish by The Smashing Pumpkins. I’ve gone with ‘I Am One’ but it’s all good baby!

  5. Still figuring out mastodon, so hope im doing this right. The bass is kind of extra low frequency, but this song introduced me to a genre that ive stuck with for a fair amount of years… also has samples from a movie I liked (with thr same name as the song).

  6. @TG_Esq and @Kitty want to hear some bass..

I'm by no means a fan of this particular group, even though i like to call out their name when counting down a 3/4 song..

The groove of this song however, is undeniable (and probably written by somebody else).
So here you go: #BackStreetBoys #Everybody (Backstreet's back)

  7. @curtisysmith This would have been my pick for #AllAboutTheBass, too.

    🙌

I've been learning some of the bass lines off this album... but not this one yet 😅

  8. This one may not be ALL about the bass, but dang that groove is so good it'll make you make that face. You know the one.

  9. For this week's tasty #TuneTuesday theme of #AllAboutTheBass, I'm going way back to my teen years. Steve Harris was the first bass player whose playing I ever fell in love with, and it was via this, the first Iron Maiden song I ever heard.

  10. It's #TuneTuesday by @Kitty with the theme by @TG_Esq #AllAboutTheBass

You know, bass is not the instrument my attention usually gravitates toward. A bassist has to be either really bad or really good (or, um, really hot) for me to notice. This is a song where I COULD NOT BELIEVE what the bassist was doing.
