„Alfredo Cospito, Genosse und Anarchist, wurde im April 2012 zu lebenslänglicher Haft ohne Bewährung verurteilt. Seitdem sitzt er im Gefängnis und befindet sich seit Mai 2022 in #Italien in #Isolationshaft. Davon verbrachte er sechs Monate im Hungerstreik, um auf die desaströsen Zustände des Artikels 41-bis Regimes aufmerksam zu machen.
Bereits seit der Einführung des 41-bis Regimes 1986 gibt es zahlreiche Aufschreie aus Menschenrechtsorganisationen wie Amnesty International. Befürworter des 41-bis Regimes drängten den damaligen Justizminister Italiens jegliche Korrensbondez von Gefangenen mit Menschenrechtsorganisationen, Strafverteidiger*innen und dem Europäischen Gerichthofs zu zensieren....“

"16.45 The Rome Supervisory Court rejected the application for early revocation of the 41 bis prison term, presented by Alfredo Cospito's defence. The National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate had given a favourable opinion on the termination of the hard prison sentence for Cospito, who is held in Sassari prison. In recent months, the anarchist had staged a hunger strike against the hard prison regime."

"Der Fall von #AlfredoCospito ist ein Beispiel für die Rache der Klasse. Der Staat in Gestalt der Turiner Staatsanwaltschaft hat wiederholt eine lebenslange Haftstrafe für einen Anarchisten gefordert. Die Verurteilung des Genossen durch das Kassationsgericht im Juli 2022 wegen “Massaker gegen die Sicherheit des Staates” (das sogenannte “politische Massaker”, Art. 285 des italienischen Strafgesetzbuches) in Bezug auf ein Massaker ohne Beweise, war das Maß für den andauernden Vernichtungsversuch gegen einen Revolutionär. Nur wenige Monate zuvor, im Mai, war Alfredo Cospito tatsächlich vom Hochsicherheitstrakt in das 41-bis-Regime überführt worden, weil er sich der Pflege von Beziehungen zur anarchistischen Bewegung und insbesondere zu bestimmten Publikationen schuldig gemacht hatte. Wenn die Verurteilung wegen “politischem Massaker” den Höhepunkt der zunehmenden Bemühungen der Terrorismusbekämpfung und der Staatsanwaltschaft darstellte, das Gespenst des aktiven Anarchismus zu vertreiben, so brachte die Überstellung nach 41bis deutlich die repressive Warnung des Staates gegenüber der anarchistischen und revolutionären Bewegung schlechthin zum Ausdruck."

"Am Mittwoch, den 19. April 2023, beendete der Anarchist Alfredo Cospito seinen Hungerstreik, den er 181 Tage zuvor, am 20. Oktober 2022, im Gefängnis von Bancali auf Sardinien begonnen hatte.
Die Unterbrechung des Hungerstreiks erfolgte nach der Anhörung vor dem Verfassungsgericht am 18. After Almost 6 Months, Alfredo Cospito Puts an End to Hunger Strike
"This morning, the end of the long strike carried out by the anarchist prisoner of the FAI, Alfredo Cospito, since October 20, 2022, in Italy, was communicated publicly.
After the last hearing held on April 18, in which the Constitutional Court left without effect the rule of imposing a life sentence on Alfredo Cospito for the attack on the Carabinieri school in Fossano, the comrade has decided to end his hunger strike."

Alfredo hat seinen Hungerstreik NICHT beendet!
"Die Nachrichten, die in den letzten Tagen in den Medien kursierten, sind falsch und verleumderisch, wie es in dieser Geschichte üblich ist: Man hat ihm Milch angeboten, aber Alfredo hat sie abgelehnt. Wenn er sich entschließt, wieder mit dem Essen anzufangen, wird er die Anweisungen befolgen, die ihm sein Arzt vor einiger Zeit gegeben hat.
Vor der Anhörung am 18. April beschloss er, wieder Nahrungsergänzungsmittel einzunehmen: Kalium zur Stabilisierung seines Herzens, Vitamine, um die neurologischen Probleme in seinen unteren Gliedmaßen einzudämmen, und Eiweiß. Nach der Anhörung vor dem Verfassungsgericht in Rom, ....wird er entscheiden wie es weitergeht."

167 Tage Hungerstreik: Alfredo Cospito kurz vor dem Tod
"Seit dem 20. Oktober letzten Jahres befindet sich der Anarchist Alfredo Cospito im Hungerstreik. Cospito war im Mai 2022 in die sogenannte 41bis-Haft verlegt worden, eine extreme Form der Isolationshaft, bei der die Gefangenen 22 Stunden am Tag allein sind und nur eine Stunde im Monat Besuch empfangen dürfen. Zudem ist der Zugang zu Literatur oder sonstigem Material aus der Außenwelt extremst eingeschränkt.
Die italienischen Gerichte lehnten trotz Aufrufen hunderter Anwälte und Organisationen wie Amnesty International jegliche Lockerung seiner Haftbedingungen ab. Am 21. März erlitt Cospito einen Herzstillstand, konnte anschließend aber wieder stabilisiert werden. Zuvor hatte er bereits erklärt:"Weil ich das Leben liebe, kann ich dieses hoffnungslose Nicht-Leben nicht akzeptieren.""

The Sassari Surveillance Court has rejected a request for deferment of a house arrest sentence for Alfredo Cospito, the 41 bis anarchist on hunger strike since last October 20. "Heart crisis for Alfredo Cospito, a tremor in his hand, a pain in his chest, the doctor and nurses intervened, they injected potassium into his vein, doctors became alarmed, they say there is a risk of irreversible damage. The anarchist himself, on hunger strike since Oct. 20, told lawyer Benedetto Ciccarone who went to the detainee pavilion of St. Paul's Hospital for the interview.
The alarm was later withdrawn but at one point the worst had been feared. There had been some commotion. Cospito told legal counsel that he had seen on the sheet taped to the machine that monitors him the change in his heart values. Cospito on Friday will be connected by videoconference with the hearing in which the Supervisory Court is to decide on his petition for house arrest for health reasons at his sister's home."

After the decision not to revoke the 41bis, Alfredo – as he had said – automatically stopped taking the potassium supplements that he had to take just before the decision, in order to have time to hear it
