Photo theme - Art Nouveau broadly, but the Germanic form of Art Nouveau more specifically
This is the Jugendstil Centre, a nice little museum dedicated to the architecture and art form in Ålesund, Norway which was rebuilt in this style after the fire that destroyed the city in 1904 thanks to aid from Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany.

A simple, wooden door for #DoorsDay but in an interesting place. This is a side entrance for the priest in Giske Church, Norway's only marble church, although covered over with plaster and chalk. The church dates to the twelfth century and the island and family for which this church was built is mentioned in the Norwegian Sagas.

For #SchiffSamstag here's the fishing vessel M. Ytterstad docked in Ålesund, Norway last year as seen from our balcony as we departed following a lovely day exploring the city. The impressive building in the distance beyond the church is a school. Ålesund is a great place to explore if you like architecture with most of it Jugendstil, a Germanic take on Art Nouveau.
