The temperature cooled down, and I'm enjoying it so much I'm keeping the house chilly. Alea the Black Cat, though, has curled up on the windowsill closest to the electrical element I used during winter.
Call me a softy, but I put it on - just for her.
(Edit: the house is fully solarpowered rn, so I felt I could indulge her.)

When Alea the Black Cat lost her last fight I decided it was time for her retirement, ie to be an indoor cat. Luckily we could net in the porch, making it a stealth catio. We're still in the phase of figuring things out - she naturally needs A Lot of stimulation and play. But she's nailed one thing; she puts a humungous stinker in the litter box, and then she saunters out on the porch to surveille the outdoors.

I can relate. This was me and Alea the Black Cat when I was supposed to put on her cone again (vet ordered me to allow her cone-less time for cleaning). The little lady weighs 3.7kg, but her wrath is _mighty_. I felt extremely vindicated when she also put the fear of God* in the nurse who removed her stitches. I'm eagerly awaiting the in-story explanation for this tiger, but so far it isn't half as scary as Alea was.

Third round at the vet today, luckily largely unneccessary (though in line with the "doctor's orders" we recieved when we returned home the 1st time). Konked out on a 2nd round of painkillers, and probably tired after her attempts to tear the carrier apart with her bare paws, Alea the Black Cat makes sure I'm not doing anything stupid while partying this Walpurgis Night.
