  2. Albert Ellis was one of the co-creators of cognitive therapy. He was a traditional psychotherapist before that. His "Rational Therapy" was born when he ( having read Stoicism in his younger days ) started noticing that his patients who got better more quickly changed the way they thought about things. Though he would eventually condense this list Dr. Ellis noticed that these core beliefs were responsible for much of the unhappiness in his patients.
