I like the music that plays between chapters in Alan Wake II. It is one of the many elements that demonstrate the artistic standards Remedy sets for its games. It's just a shame that they don't enjoy much commercial success with it. They would need a cash cow to finance such extravagance. Unfortunately, FBC: Firebreak did not turn out to be that cash cow.

A big plus in game design is player guidance through light sources! This is much more elegant than using yellow tapes and paint. Besides that, Alan Wake II's mechanics feel similar to Resident Evil's, with relatively slow and linear movement, scarce resources, and a tetris inventory.

Alan Wake II has a fantastic atmosphere. I really like it so far. It looks great, too, and has a wonderful photo mode. I could take quite a few screenshots.

Like most of my games, I started Alan Wake II blind. I know next to nothing about it, including what kind of game design to expect. I love Remedy's Control, so at least I know it's set in the same universe. And that sounds great already!
