The Alan wake sections are not intuitive, full of back tracking, and it’s so dark you can’t see anything you need to see. The idea is sound but the execution is terrible 4/10 for the Alan story board sections. #AlanWake2

El #AlanWake2 que bonito es, joder. Va súper sobrado a #FullHD este juego todo a tope en la RX 9060 XT.
Ahora, tema RT, es otra historia. A parte de lo conocido de bajar los FPS de forma bestial para una mejora casi inapreciable, me produce efectos indeseados. Puede ser por lo que dice @Pos_yo que la implementación es una mierda para tarjetas AMD en este juego. Por ejemplo los reflejos de los cristales de los coches se ven pochos. Yo, en serio, renuncio al RT. No vale la pena.

In other words: without Epic footing the bill, Alan Wake 2 would have never existed.
They literally sacrificed the future sales on Steam for making the game in the first place.
Hopefully, this becomes a warning sign for publishers to make temporal deals with Epic instead of permanent ones.

After finishing again #Control, I now want to play #AlanWake2, but... the PC version still can only be bought on the #EpicGamesStore, and Epic Games CEO said it will never be released on Steam, so... I guess I'll have to resort to the only option: piracy (no, buying the game on the Epic Games Store is not a sane option).

BTW, I love this game. The smooth combat with "superpowers", the story, the SCP alike setting, the confusing brutalist design of The Oldest House... It has its flaws but it's my favorite game from #Remedy (but I have still to play #AlanWake2, and sorry, I'm not playing #QuantumBreak).

CW: Alan Wake II: the Remedy moment.
As I've already written, I love the ideas that Remedy puts into its games and how it combines narration and game design. The Ashtray Maze in Control was a big aha moment for me. Of course, I expected Remedy to come up with something special in Alan Wake II. Horde mode? We've played that a thousand times before. Horde mode during an over-the-top concert? Oh yeah!

Oh man, the atmosphere and especially the sound design in the Valhalla Nursing Home was nerve-wracking. I love good sound design and background noises that hint at danger and create a threatening environment. That was a great segment and one of the most intense atmospheres in Alan Wake II so far.

Abandoned fairgrounds and theme parks always have a special atmosphere. I once visited an actual, dilapidated theme park, which was quite eerie. I also think of Coney Island in The Division 2, which is beautifully designed. A similar atmosphere can be found in Alan Wake II.

I like the music that plays between chapters in Alan Wake II. It is one of the many elements that demonstrate the artistic standards Remedy sets for its games. It's just a shame that they don't enjoy much commercial success with it. They would need a cash cow to finance such extravagance. Unfortunately, FBC: Firebreak did not turn out to be that cash cow.

Like most of my games, I started Alan Wake II blind. I know next to nothing about it, including what kind of game design to expect. I love Remedy's Control, so at least I know it's set in the same universe. And that sounds great already!

I've finally upgraded to PS5, and just in time to get #AlanWake2 (no spoilers, please) for free. I've wanted to play this one quite badly (especially after my brother who doesn't even like horror games sung its praises), and it's already delivering.

Anoche me terminé el Sea of Stars justo a tiempo. Tenía miedo de que no me diese tiempo antes de que lo quitasen del Gamepass ya que al estar de vacaciones me paso el día fuera de casa y solo le daba por las noches.
Menudo juegarral que me ha parecido. Ya con el tiempo me lo pillaré en edición física.Ahora ya puedo retomar el Alan Wake 2 que lo empecé justo antes del Sea of Stars y lo dejé aplazado justo al inicio.
Ya he llegado al punto en el que controlas a Alan y siento que el juego empieza de verdad XD -
