When you do the foundation and it turns out you have enough rocks left to just do the whole building from them.

The photo section of the museum. Here a local photographer has taken pictures of every day life, which offer a fascinating glimpse of the past.
Most of the photos are undated and often without description or the label just describes the scene. A few had hand scribbled additions where someone local has recognized the person or place on the photo.
I found the backgrounds often most interesting. Dirt roads with muddy tracks, houses with shutters still in use instead of nailed to the walls, horse carts as transport, later early signs of mechanization.
And this amazing photo of a tired looking partisan fighter.

The woodworking section of the museum.
A small model of a pit saw, or I guess since there is no pit, a trestle saw.
And a working and relatively modern foot powered lathe.

More flax processing tools.
The left one is used for breaking the stalks around the fibers.
Then there's various combs for refining the fibers. And a few for storing yarn once its spun on a spinning wheel.

Looms.
And those things we have in the attic. I'm not sure what they are for. Some kind of winder. Perhaps for setting up the warp or just storing yarn?
Its quite fun to go to the local museum and find pieces you have in your attic and work out what they were used for! :)

Ariston organette with a disc of "March from Faust" (Charles Gounod).

Stone building. Perhaps an old stable. With a baseball court :)
The extension looks newer and residential.

It's nice that you can look inside churches without having to sign up for membership.

Spotted this teaching aid in the corner of the farm equipment hall.
Can never resist something like that. So amazing to look into a machine and see what's going on.
It's no longer used, the rest is modern equipment (including some John DRMeere), but at least they kept this around 👍

-4°C and an icy wind, but also the first sunshine in forever.
Got dragged out for a walk to the village. Glad about it.
Had to find my winter gloves and neckthing first.

Some gifted artist must be living in Alanta. Stumbled upon this workshop/exhibit.

The news tonight with the shooting in #Alanta reminds me of Mark O'Barton. At the time I worked in Alpharetta but lived maybe a few miles from the location of his shooting spree. Of course we heard about it at work but on my way home I figured he was long gone. And he actually wasn't nearby but at the time no one knew.
I stopped to shop somewhere and on my way back to my car was followed by security to my car in the parking deck. They said they were trying to make sure nothing happened to their patrons. And that was all I needed to go straight home and watch the news.
That was 1999 and still not getting any better...
