Jumping all the way to 2020, Sakurai voiced a cutthroat named... Cutthroat in #AkudamaDrive. A killer with hundreds of bodies to his name, Cutthroat was the wild card of the group, his obsession with red and Swindler contrasting with his flighty nature and need to bleed everything he loves. Sakurai's younger-sounding, almost pleading performance makes Cutthroat's actions all the more disturbing.

In the same season, Kurosawa went outlaw as Swindler in #AkudamaDrive. Originally just another ordinary person, Swindler's bad luck to run into several dangerous criminals becomes her tense coming-of-age journey as she questions what her society is. Kurosawa shows off a wide range in this series, starting off as naive and terrified before becoming a competent woman who wears a mask even to the end.

Creo que la gracia que tuvo Cyberpunk Edgerunners frente a las demás obras de #Cyberpunk en el anime (como #Akira o #Ghostintheshell) es que el 99% de su trama no está centrada en la milicia.
Otro gran anime que intentó hacer lo mismo fue #AkudamaDrive. Sin embargo, su narrativa se centró demasiado en el encargo más que en sus personajes.#CyberpunkEdgerunners no solo nos trae el increíble mundo de #Cyberpunk2077 y el clásico juego de rol de mesa de Cyberpunk, sino que al igual que su juego, su narrativa está centrada en sus personajes. Con una historia ambientada 6-12 meses antes de las aventuras de V, la troupe formada por David y sus colegas hace que Cyberpunk Edgerunners se coloqué, no solo como una de las mejores obras de Cyberpunk de la animación, sino de la scene.
La gracia del setting Cyberpunk es mostrar un mundo distópico dominado por mega corporaciones (algo que realmente estamos transicionando en la vida real), y la gran mayoría de obras con este setting se centra mucho la guerra entre mega corporaciones y militares del gobierno para ver quien controla el mundo y la red. Aún así, Cyberpunk Edgerunners mostró algo mucho más profundo de lo que la gente piensa, la vida.
Edgerunners triunfó (y triunfa) por el simple hecho de mostrar como vive la gente doblegada por un mundo distópico. Sobrevivir como se pueda, y sobre todo, cuidarte las espaldas confiando en nadie. Cyberpunk 2077 lo mostró perfectamente. Y Edgerunners fue el marketing perfecto gracias a su troupe y la relación entre David y Lucy.
