The KDE folks have already merged a fix for the help issue. 👍
Akregator seems to have gone nuts on my feeds though, and is reloading all of the articles, no matter how old.
I also wish it would remember sort order and that I only want to view unread articles.
On to the next one, I guess.

KDE's docs being out of date for Plasma 6 is a problem I keep running into. Great opportunity for potential tech writers to develop a portfolio of work…

Akregator (the official? KDE feed reader) loaded my feeds and folders successfully and quickly!
There was a weird UI bug where it also temporarily created empty feed entries, one per imported feed. These went away when I fetched articles (or when I re-arranged the folders).
Since I'm running KDE anyway, I'll give this a go for a bit and see how well it works day-to-day.

And making use of #KDE #RSS reader #Akregator now, instead of pushing it to an app on my phone - I mostly don't use my phone for work-related things.

Migrated my #Akregator #RSS subscriptions over to a #selfhosted instance of #FreshRSS!
I encountered small nuisances with Akregator, including but not limited to the inability to add certain RSS feeds.
Ideally, I'd like to have a local/native/offline RSS reader that syncs with my FreshRSS instance.
But this works as well! 🙂 -

PS: Instagram in realtà lo uso ma, essendo sempre più schifoso, è facile perdersi un post nel mucchio (inoltre lì entro più che altro per la "comunicazione a storie" tra amic*)

@jakob Ja, ich weiß, dass man in Friendica auch gut mit RSS spielen kann. Aber ich hab mich über die Jahre so sehr in #Akregator aufm Desktop eingewöhnt, dass ich RSS noch immer damit erledige. 😀 Ich muss dazu anmerken, dass ich Friendica, Pixelfed & Co vom Desktop aus nutze - Apps aufm Handy habsch dafür nicht. Ist mir zu fummelig - das ist aber eher so'n persönliches Ding und soll keine Wertung von App-Qualitäten oder so sein. 😀
Außerdem habe ich wenige solcher Feeds als eigrne Identität als "Bot" eingerichtet. Einer hat über 1000 Abonnenten. Das scheint mir durchaus so, als ob Interesse an diesem Feed im Fediverse bestünde.
Ist ja okay so. Ich brauchs nicht, aber wer will, der kann ja.
Was die "Stottereien" angeht: Ja, manchmal wird es anstrengend. Wenn es (mir) zuviel wird, ignoriere ich es auch. Was mir in Bezug darauf so an Friendica gefällt, ist, dass man es sich so flexibel hinkurbeln kann... nix muss gleich komplett oder für die Ewigkeit sein. Ignorieren oder gar Blockieren klingt erstmal doof, aber es kommt ja auch auf die Handhabung an. Und die Beweggründe.

@rysiek @haubles I'd love it, if #Akregator would get some urgently needed love, as it's really grown on me and nicely integrates with #KDEPlasma.
But unless I invest some time to fix known bugs, I have no one to blame but myself ☺️

Never tried Google RSS aggregator. I think before 2009 I was using #akregator .

Many articles about the Australia-Facebook dispute noted that a large number of people rely on Facebook as their primary news and information portal. Because I think that relying on a big tech entity that treats users as products for advertisers as a primary news source is unwise - I suggest RSS as an alternative in my post.
