I also finished up Akiba Maid War a couple of days ago. This show was such a wild ride from start to finish. Who knew a Yakuza movie plot but with maids would work so well?

I suppose I should do an #Introduction before I wrap up this, the first day of my shiny new #Akkoma server's existence (I've been on #Lemmy for a while, and used to even run a #Mastodon server long long ago).
I'm Kegan, (he/him), and often go by the name "terribleplan". Ask me about my nickname some time and I'll tell you about it.
I enjoy #coding, running #software, and storing far too much data. My #programming languages of choice are #Javascript (esp. with #Svelte recently) and #Golang depending on the situation and how lazy I am feeling. I have a fairly extensive #homelab that I am #selfhosting a bunch of my stuff in, as well as a respectable presence in various #cloud providers. I dabble with #AI/#ML a little, but really have little clue what I am doing as far as that goes.
I watch way too many educational-ish #YouTube videos (such as Wendover Productions, Tom Scott, etc).
I am an avid fan of @LoadingReadyRun and most things adjacent to them including their home steams (especially BNF for #music recommendations) and @desertbus. You may see me in those #Twitch chats under the same handle I use here.
I consume far too much #anime (remember that data I store? this is a big part of it), though have been a little disappointed and starved for content the past couple seasons after watching far too many shows during the winter season. Highlights of the past year or two for me have been (in roughly reverse season order) #kimisomu, #tonsuki, #danmachi, #ototen, #tomochan, #IsekaiNonbiriNouka, #kamihiro, #Nagotoro, #saitousan, #SpyXFamily, #ChainsawMan, #kagejitsu, #tenken, #BocchiTheRock, #UzakiChan, #AkibaMaidWar, #iseyak, #tsurekano, #KaguyaSama, #KomiSan, #AharenSan, #koiseka, #kisekoi, #genjitsu, #TakagiSan, #SlowLoop. Yes, these are the highlights, I wasn't lying about the "far too much anime" thing.
Professionally I do #DevOps things (super-fancy #IT stuff if that term means nothing to you). I used to be a #developer but hated writing worse software just so we could do silly things like "deliver on time".
Is that enough? Too much? Yeah. I also do that a lot. Ask me about things at your own peril, lest you get a comprehensive answer. If I am talking/writing about things I am interested in I can go on pretty much forever. I dabble in far more things than I mentioned here, so be warned. -

Oinky Doink Cafe
And in-between.
In this case, the Oinky Doink Cafe. You can’t be much more in-between than that.
The two maids working there at the time, Tohru and Ranko, wished them luck but had no idea where the Darling children might have gone.

#AkibaMaidWar is legit hilarious. The Venezuelans caught me off guard.
I can't believe Cygames, the same people who made that god awful Pretty Derby anime, are behind quality animes like this show and Zombie Land Saga

Anime Fall 2022 Ranking 5/24 - Akiba Maid War
1/3
What if 1990’s Akiba was the site of intense, merciless, and bloody yakuza turf wars? Now, what if those yakuza were actually animal and space themed maids cafes? Now you have a sense for the concept of this wild anime.

I have to start working on my #cosplay photo backlog for #AnimeLA18. This picture is from Saturday afternoon featuring 3 characters from #AkibaMaidWar in their Oinky Doink Café maid outfits and prop pistols. From left to right the characters are Nagomi, Zoya, and Ranko. Zoya and Ranko have visible in-character name badges, as well as light sticks as used for idol concerts

Finished up watching Akiba Maid War today and I have to say the last few episodes really sold me on it. They finished it up about as well as they could have finished up that strange show. I don't mean strange in a negative way, more like unique but weirder. #AkibaMaidWar #anime

CW: Spoiler: Akiba Maid War Finale
I think #AkibaMaidWar managed to stick the landing. I'm still upset that waifu of the season Ranko was killed off last episode, but I get that her untimely death was the necessary impetus for change that brought about peace and fun to Akihabara with (now wheel-chair bound) Nagomi carrying on her spirit.
This and Bocchi the Rock! were definitely the top shows of the season.
