The folks trying to rollback elections in Alaska to the bad old days of closed primaries have turned in their petition books.
Sixty days for Division of Elections to certify and probably some arguing about invalid signatures but this will be a huge issue this year if it gets on the ballot.
I'd very much like to keep our current elections system in place. If we're going to make changes, they need to be forward looking, not a wholesale repeal. #akleg #akgov

Hey Alaska friends, are you aware we have no contribution limits for state or local elections? When one wealthy donor can buy an election, we get politicians who only serve those few deep pocketed interests.

It's been overdue so I suppose I should do an introduction! I'm Justin, a #fish biologist in Southeast #Alaska. I have lots of interests but really appreciate keeping up with local politics, especially #akleg and #akgov . There are also so many great #rstats folks that I've learned #dataviz from. I read much more than post but appreciate the conversation here!

@AKroadweed i believe if we can address the oil tax credits AND get our fair share (dammit!) then we can address Ed and Housing.
