  1. My son and I started playing #FinalFantasy9. Loving all the #airships (only some of which are blowing up!) and it feels like a great refinement of the systems from #FinalFantasy7, which is the one from this era I've played the most.

Most games I play nowadays fit easily into my "dad" life. They have gameplay loops of about 20-30 minutes and generous saving systems. So far, Final Fantasy IX's checkpoints are 40-60 minutes apart, which make perfect sense for game in isolation but are a little stressful for me; my life is just shaped a little differently than what the game expects.

Playing this on my modded #PS2, by the way! Ripped my discs and converted them to .vcd, uploaded them with #PSBBN, uploaded to a harddrive embeded in the console. Great that new mod tools are still being made! github.com/CosmicScale/PSBBN-D

  6. "A daytime snowfall in front of airships in sepia", by yours truly. They're not easy to make out in the storm, but once you've seen it, you can't un-see it: imagine flying your plane into a storm only to emerge through a portal into The World of Tomorrow....

  9. another painting coming with me to anthro new england friday, but what will be in my shop if it doesnt find a home there.

like most of my dragon paintings, this was largely an experiment in wrangling my own anxiety

  10. So, I just caught a bit of a story about #Airships broadcasting signals -- potentially replacing satellites! Personally, I think there's too many satellites to begin with, but airships are so #Steampunk. However, would we want as many airships as there are satellites? Hmmmm...

  11. I lived in Bedfordshire in my young years and the UK version of the Goodyear airship flew out of Cardington, Bedford. Always a joy to see an airship.
Sadly never got to see "the flying bum".

  15. ‘The flying bum’: can a UK firm making huge #airships finally get off the ground? - theguardian.com/business/2025/ "more spacious seats for passengers, while luxury tourists will each have double bedrooms. Freight shipping is even more promising" delightfully bonkers

  16. "It’s a dreary day in Bedford, but on a flight simulator the skies above San Francisco airport are blue and the wind is low. That is a good thing, because there is an amateur at the joystick of the world’s biggest aircraft."

Seriously though, we need these things to bring down aircraft emissions.

Also it's the 21 Century and we need more large things in the sky, advertising 'a new life, Offworld'
