Airborne viruses don't care if you believe in their year round infection powers or not. Better to try & avoid catching them in the first place. You will be SOL trying to get help for long covid in BC. The BC eugenics government cut funding & closed the only long covid clinic here. You are told to use phone services instead - which doesn't really help people struggling to live with long covid. You'll be lucky to even find doctors who will diagnose you properly with long covid too. Best to avoid getting long covid by not subjecting yourself to repeated infections in the first place.

The most upsetting thing to me, Mom, my brothers & our tight extended family is how so many people who have been diagnosed with cancer are still living higher risk lives unmasked. I've literally met over 26 cancer patients in local hospitals, all unmasked & with a lot of unmasked visitors too - in only 1.5 months. They're all putting themselves, every other patient, every staff, every visitors to hospitals at higher risks for multiple airborne illnesses & it is fucked up how many people don't seem to care.

People didn't care about if any of my family lived or died. Covid is also a massive community care crisis.

VIHA Risk Assessment chart for protective gear is another example of BC health's ongoing failcare. I had to ask for this additional handwritten sign to be put up to protect my Mom better in Jubilee Hospital. I had told staff the VIHA signs they put up weren't clear enough & that we need everyone entering her room to be masked up. Their response was that Mom didn't meet the risk assessment for required masking. I responded with, the risk assessment chart is absolutely flawed if it's not requiring people to mask up around an extremely immune compromised liver cancer patient. You're health care workers. You should know that cancer patients need to be protected. You should not need to be told these basic proactive precautions, especially as fellow health care providers. Put your PPE/masks on.

Poor public health management on a poster. Surgical masks are better than no masks but they're not strong enough protection against airborne contagious illnesses. If people wait for symptoms to start wearing masks in hospitals - it's already too late. Many airborne contagious illnesses are asymptomatic so people who don't feel sick/look physically sick are still more than able to infect others. Stop the fast public spread of more contagious airborne illnesses by wearing at least an KN95 or N95 mask in every medical setting & anywhere you're indoors with a bunch of strangers.
