  1. The New WordPress Dev Toolbox: Local-First, Agent-Assisted, Terminal-Shipped

The last few weeks have been fantastic for anybody who builds plugins and themes for WordPress. Three tools dropped that, stacked together, cover the whole build and deploy process: spin up a site, build something, ship it to the wp.org directory. No Docker wrangling, no "works on my machine," no SVN tap-dance. 1. WordPress Studio now runs on Linux For years the Studio desktop app was a Mac-and-Windows party. As of June 11, 2026, the desktop app landed on Linux (starting with Ubuntu) — […]

I thought we’d already dealt with this! Now it’s on again:
“ Mr Pocock asked whether any element of that claim was correct, and whether Prime Minister Anthony Albanese intended to announce a plan on or around July 15, or if the government could "categorically rule out" contemplating any change.

“My Ayres responded saying the federal government would not undermine copyright protections in Australia, and that it was in Australia's interests to "secure as much of the technology stack" as possible.

"It is not this government's view that we should just be a cork bobbing on the ocean of other people's technology, and a customer at the long end of technology supply chains," he said.”

Not sure what this ‘bobbing cork’ metaphor is all about, don’t find it helpful. Situation reminds me of mining companies which continually nag Indigenous land custodians who say ‘No’, hoping to wear them down.

Full disclosure: I’m a published author whose works appeared in the Anthropic data base but was ineligible for compensation because not published in US.

  3. What Is Headless WordPress? Jan-Feb Workshop Recap & What’s Next at the YEG WP Meetup

Headless means exactly that: you cut the head off. The WordPress back end keeps doing what it does best — storing and managing content via its database, REST API, and other interfaces — but it stops generating the front end.

  4. LLM/AI do not understand me…

This is totally unscientific and purely speculative…

I my personal experience I am struggling a lot to let understand LLM/AI what I want. I do believe to explain myself clearly but I don't get the desired outcome.

Thus I have started to believe this models are calibrated to understand linear thinking specifically. I have an artistic education and I am graduated in Fine Arts, I spent all my years of education developing the right hemisphere of my brain (and this is why a struggle a lot with coding), therefore when I write a prompt to these LLM they don't grasp my non-linear thoughts.

And this is why them struggle to do the task I assigned them and I struggle to get my job done properly...

Perhaps it might be true… 🤔

  7. WP YEG Joins the Fediverse

Because I hope it makes us the target of friendly “DDoS” attacks, I finally installed and activated the ActivityPub plugin on WPYEG.org, allowing it to interact with the Fediverse like a Mastodon account. I also added the Friends and Webmention plugins, which facilitate decentralized interactions, creating a community-focused platform. Lots of details about that plus other WordPress news and hacking around.

  8. Looks like AI/LLM companies don't actually care if their products work or not. The same prompt broke every model the article's author tried, and there was no obvious way to get hold of anyone at the companies to let them know:

"(AI/LLM companies are) a collection of fundamentally unserious people and organizations who appear to have no grasp of what it means to run a software business, nor any desire to implement any of the systems or processes needed to affect that seriousness."
