I love how these #aibros are developing models and bots to replace people's jobs, but none of them within their realm. I will trust #AI when these bros let AI fly their private jets, do life saving surgery on them, or do their lobbying for them. I bet once it begins to affect them, we'll start seeing laws against AI use.

At some point, just like with the Dead Internet Theory, The Business™ consists of bots replying to one another, to be consumed by other bots.I feel like the term "business" is pretty fitting. It keeps you (or bots) busy but ultimately, it's a self referential end in itself.

@lianna Well, most #AIs and #robots in fiction I think their inputs are mostly or fully sensory-based, and they learn in real time through #ReinforcementLearning - esque techniques. AIs like LLMs are frozen in place (they never update and are just replaced over time), and they do not have any meanful interaction to the real world, nor like reflection.
I'd think that robots like #Sophia a few years ago would be more closer to the former than the latter, but #AIBros love conflating the twos.

So I'm having trouble with #SubStack again.
Why? Because some #AIBros keep subscribing me to their #spam. And for some reason, SubStack lets people subscribe random e-mail addresses to their newsletters, and effectively create accounts for them (sigh!). Then you remove the account and they do it again.
I've mailed their support. Let's see what happens next.

When the hype is coming directly from the #AIbros, it's one thing. When it's 2nd-hand hype, coming from people experiencing the need the mathy-math is supposed to address, it's a much more delicate job to push back.
