A recent paper in Scientific Reports examines data from 2003-17 to indicate that hazy days in winter (Nov-Feb) is increasing by more than 2 days/yr in India. The increase is greater in Central India (2.6 days/yr) compared to Indo-Gangetic Plain (1.7 days/yr). Because of wind direction the increase in hazy days higher in Arabian Sea than in Bay of Bengal. An important reason for this is biomass burning, which could have been added as soil nutrients. #AgrarianCrisis #AQI
