Today I playtested 3d6-Squadrons the #AgeOfSail naval #miniatures #Wargame I currently work on for the #monsteriacon My goal is to make a game that integrates the central building blocks of AgeOfSail wargames (movement relativ to wind, firing arcs etc.) which can be played in a 3-4 hour time slot with players who are newcomers to the genre. It still needs some tweeks but most mechanics already ran pretty smooth.

Project Digitize is bearing fruit. I've scanned the 1/600 scale Minairons xebec I painted up into a 3D model, and with minimal effort cleaned it up and plopped it into #TabletopSimulator in the #OakAndIron mod. Now I can play with it alongside the ships that come with that mod.

Several update to Uncharted Azure in the past few weeks:
- revamped the main game console look, pixelated public domain art header, icons from UWNH
- Completed the new court intrigue system, support Patrons to change policies of your faction -
Updates this week to Uncharted Azure:
-Captain portraits that show in the global ticker (pictured)
-New tutorial mission for onboarding
-New landfall/search/discovery system

In "Sharpe's Trafalgar" the titular protagonist travels on a British navy ship of the line and we get various descriptions of the cavernous bowels of the ship, filled with fetid airs and scurrying rats - as well as this line:
"Cowper, the purser, who normally stayed mole-like in the lower depths of the ship..."
Which immediately makes me think that in a fantasy age of sail, dwarves or goblins at sea would take on the below deck work.
