More time has now passed between the publication of #ADanceOfDragons and today than the publication of #AGameOfThrones and Dance.
Which is kinda, well sad I guess?
We're also quickly approaching the 30th anniversary of the series as a whole. Crazy to think I was eight years old when this stuff was first released into the world.
I'm now a 38 year old father of two.

Thinking about messaging my tattooist about doing a #ASOIAF piece for my leg.
I want a sword, so I'm edging towards Blackfyre, with a bag of Davos's fingers hanging off the cross guard and the pointy end sticking into a pile of books.
Over time I'd like to build it into a half-leg sleeve, with a bit of map, maybe a crown and a dragon, but that comes later.

Should I start reading "A Game of Thrones"?
On the one hand: couple of thousand of pages until I get to the end of the currently published material. On the other hand, George R.R. Martin did an interview in November where he said he's still got just as much left to write in the next book as he had a year ago. So completion looks... unlikely.
But maybe I'll get a few hundred pages into it and hate it?

I finished #AGameOfThrones last week. So now I'm going to jump back over to nonfiction, and more specifically #USPresidents.
I've had #TheLeadersWeDeserved on my bookshelf for about a year, and it finally feels like the right time to dive into it.
It's very large. And it's very very....dry. Still, looking forward to it greatly.

For the first time in what feels like years, I've not picked up a controller in a week.. and it's been fun. I've basically watched #TedLasso and gotten through most of #AGameOfThrones in that time.
To be honest, after mainlining #HogwartsLegacy and finishing #Bloodborne in the last few weeks, I was in need of a breather. Especially with Starfield, Trine and Lies of P on the horizon.

Just finished #AGameOfThrones for the second time (first in 12 years) and I've got to say, I think I enjoyed it even more on the second go.
You see, without wanting to sound all snobby....I'm so familiar with this world that the little details that flew over my head when I first read it suddenly jump out of the page at me.
And it's really nice to see some of the ASOIAF lore was present so early in this series.

Even now, 12 years on from when I originally read it, I find the Dani chapters the most difficult to get through.
I *think* it's because her plot is so seperate from the events of the rest of the book, I find it difficult to care about an awful lot of what's going on over here when there's so much more interesting stuff going on back on Westeros.

Hey, the Global Operations Team could really use some help with the fan effort to keep the A Game of Thrones card game running after the company ended publication.
If you could be of any help please apply, even if you don't know the game well, we could still use more folks in organization and communication.

🔦 "Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you"
-- I'm sure, this phrase said by Tyrion Lannister to young Jon Snow was quoted thousands times, but I just started read the book, and this is really impressive.

Pulled both Beast and Falcon recently, so now I'm playing a 1 drop bounce deck in #MarvelSnap and it's a total blast. Feels like a playing #Izzet in #MtG or #Martell in #AGameofThrones.
