Marshlands in #AgainstTheStorm are somehow disturbing... I get big #mushrooms as trees, but why the hell there are big wasp-like bodies growing (?) on them? Are these created by mushrooms (or rather some weird entity with complex lifecycle with mushroom-tree and #insect forms) or giant wasps were caught in traps by mushrooms and immobilized there? Or they just landed for molting and left empty shells...
I don't know if it has some lore explanation other than "these are strange mutated lands full of dark disturbing forms"?

Against the Storm is such a weird game. Start with only the non-combat elements of #Warcraft3, use #RogueLike elements to spice up the production chains, and then force the player to balance it all on a razor’s edge without being able to save scum.

With polish I meant more really good core gameplay loops that just work intuitively yet keep you interrested for hours. Embedded in a design that's just really good at what it wants to convey.

By comparison, a lot of older games feel ... clunky?

Personally, I like team style multiplayer a lot. For me, it's an element that keeps games fresh. So I might not be the best person to advise.

But #AgainstTheStorm is a solo game. Pausable, but urgent. It's really really good.

What kind of games are you referring to? Computer games, I guess?

And what did you like in the past?

Personally, I got lucky to have my tastes met quite nicely.

I sank hours into Co-op shooters like #Darktide and #Helldivers2. #HuntShowdown is a great extraction shooter with a lot of depth and suspense to it. #AgainstTheStorm is a captivating city builder / production line manager. I haven't played #BaldursGate3, but others loved it.

All of these are very polished games.

I first played Against the Storm on June 9. Since then I've put over 150 hours into it and I'm trying to close the Gold Seal. Watch me try!
