Raffles London at The OWO will launch a Gruffalo family experience featuring themed amenities and afternoon tea from 21 September 2026.

It is inspired by Gruffalo Granny, the first new Gruffalo book in 20 years from authors Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, published by Macmillan Children’s Books.

Reading that tea (prepared camellia sinensis leaves) was in use in London in the mid 1600s.

And that scones appeared in documents from around 1550.

So when I read, "afternoon tea has been around longer than scones" I get doubtful.
