Works with Stamen Toner, Alidade Smooth, satellite, and everything else in the library. Animate routes, extrude buildings, highlight features on a real map.

This last year gave me the great opportunity to learn video editing, effects and other tricks alongside my management responsibilities and other duties. During this trial by fire, I picked up some fun trade lingo — things like the shy button, subharmonic whooshes, ripple trims, hairy armpits, goat bleats, and my personal favorite, the Wichita Watusi.

I think at least one of them has potential outside the editing suites — “All right, who let out the subharmonic whoosh?”

And the new Quick Apply feature is fantastic! I wouldn't use #AfterEffects without FX Console but this can apply the filter to a new solid or adjustment layer without having to create it first! Great idea!

It even names the newly created layers after the applied filter!

Object Matte (Roto Brush 4) in new #AfterEffects beta is cool but why does it run only on two cores and uses no GPU? Surely it could be paralelized further?

This is how it looks when After Effects is rendering. It’s a small miracle that it outputs anything at all with that shoddy threading.
Meanwhile, when ffmpeg gets to town, all cores are close to 100% throughout and things GET DONE 🤣
