Something positive I have learned about myself while exploring #kink:
I genuinely find #joy and #pleasure in giving to the people I care about. What has held me back from giving as freely as I want to in the past has been my fear that I won't get taken care of the way I take care of others. But what if we could build a world where we could all just give abundantly to each other and not have to worry about it because we lived in a society based on an ethic of mutual care? I want to imagine that world.
I went out today to buy some small things for #aftercare for a play partner who will be subbing for me in a scene this weekend, and that feeling of thinking about this person's needs and trying to anticipate them made me feel #happy. Maybe I need to start trusting that because I care about others and want to meet their needs, there will be people in the world who will care about me and take the same joy in meeting my needs.
