EDE Bell of Atthis Arts tells the BFS why they've opted to crowdfund for two very important new releases celebrating a late Ukrainian writer and a member of the @sauutiverse
It's a case of, Bell says, "how the universe sometimes finds ways to bring people together, even across extraordinary distances or circumstances, to bring dreams and needs to life."

We are blessed to have so many talented humans taking part in Writing the Occult: Connection to Land—including African writers and members of the Sauuti Collective, Xan van Rooyen and Akintoba Kalejaye.
Explore it over at sauuti.com, or join us and hear more from the creators' mouths themselves. How did they create a shared world so rooted in the disparate traditions found in African mythology, language, and culture?
🧵⬇️
Connecting to the land doesn't have to result in real-world creative works - just ask The Sauuti Collective. This group of African writers created a shared speculative world based in the myths & lands of their homes. I'll chat with Sauuti members Xan van Rooyen and Akintoba Kalejaye about it at Writing the Occult: Connection to Land on 15 June. Learn more about them🧵⬇️

Joining me and Akintoba Kalejaye in conversation is none other than Xan van Rooyen 🙌 🧵⬇️

It was awful, was it not, that the rich should have this effect on the poor, making them always want to apologize for their poverty, and at all times to sacrifice future necessities just so that they could make a brief show of the wealth they could never hope to have.
